April 4, 2013 – Stillwater, MN — Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) member company MODERNISTIC was recently honored with their fourth consecutive SGIA Sustainability Recognition Award. MODERNISTIC continues to distinguish itself as a leader of sustainable business practices by being the only printer in the country to receive this distinction for four consecutive years.

Each company was asked to outline the 2012 sustainability project they had undertaken. MODERNISTIC reduced their VOCs used in their screen wash area by 33%. This reduced their environmental footprint by lowering risks to human health and the environment.

MODERNISTIC, a Sustainable Green Printer, first received certification from the Sustainable Green Printing (SGP) Partnership in 2009, and is currently only one of a few screen and digital large format printers in the nation with this distinction. The SGP is the first and only national certification for printers that have implemented environmentally sustainable business practices.

“MODERNISTIC takes great pride as the only printer to receive this award four years in a row.” said Scott Schulte, Co-CEO of MODERNISTIC. “Recognition by SGIA for our efforts helps validate our sustainability activities to both our customer base and our employees.”
